On the Road

Seriously az?

Hot as hell in phoenix. If you live here, you’re crazy. A low of 91. That’s like … pretty much hell right? I think so. I almost melted while walking from the plane to the boarding area to get my connecting flight to San Diego. No wonder there are so many Zonies at the beach in summer. I might be a little less rude when they cause traffic jams on Mission Blvd., but probably not.

But the rest of my trip across the country was nice and included this dinner with some great friends on cape cod. This is almost 2 lbs of straight lobster meat.

Sorry dudes, my bad.

Oh snap!
Woke up 29 today in San Francisco.
Had a killer time in Berkeley last night and made it back in to the city. Went to Musashi on Dwight and feasted on sushi. My buddy’s mom hooked us up big time. Thanks Toyoko!
Dinner was awesome with my roommates from a year ago. Then met up with a high school friend at Thalassa on Shattuck.
Then we hopped on BART at Rockridge and headed for the Mission, but ended up in the Castro. Aggressive, but fun.

Can’t wait for the rest of the weekend. HUF, Villains, and Hundreds here I come.

Obama Gear

If you missed the inauguration in DC, then you might not know that there was the MOST outrageous amount of Obama clothing being sold. Tee shirts, long sleeves, sweatshirts, hats, scarves, beenies, and ear warmers (silk-screened or embroidered with Obama’s name or laden with imagery of Barak, Michelle, and daughters) were all being sold on the streets of DC for “reasonable” prices.

DC Boutiques and a new BK Skate Shop from my East Coast Trip

I stopped by my favorite DC boutiques after the inauguration festivities were done.

CommonWealth

Major, CommonWealth, and For The Greater Good. They are clearing out the rest of 2008’s clothing to make way for the new spring lines.

For The Greater Good

*Side Note: I missed Agenda in SD where I could have actually previewed all of upcoming fashions. Oh Well… *
**It will be interesting to see what companies to continue to produce high end, creative apparel in this obvious recession.
It’s not about the money people but the product, THE ART and we’ll see in the upcoming year who has THE HEART to keep at it.**

I also went to KCDC, a skate shop in Brooklyn, NYC. Located in Williamsburg, BK, home of the hipster, KCDC has a prime real estate across from the Brooklyn Brewery (also went there). Shopping after a couple of beers is always fun and always dangerous, but with a solid inventory you can’t really go wrong at KCDC.

This store was basically heaven for me. They have a half pipe in 1 half of the store and the other is a shop that carries the hottest skatewear out. I was stoked to see my faves, WESC and Insight, on the shelves. They carry more from these companies than you’ll find at Active in Southern California. I picked up a shop tee called ‘The Smoker’.
Never have I ever lit a cigarette while skating.
